Explanation of snoezelen Lab.

Here is what we are doing at Snoezelen Lab.

The Snoezelen Lab is a laboratory where we collaborate with other companies and organizations to create chemical reactions based on the Snoezelen concept.We are nurturing the seeds of activities that are difficult to tackle within the framework of a for-profit corporation.
We want Japan to be a happy country when the children become adults. Together with partner companies and organizations that share this pure desire, we are creating an environment for children.

※In the fall of 2016, we were certified to work as an affiliate of Worldwidesnoezelen in the Netherlands.
As of 2021, Snoezelen has reached more people than when it first started.
I felt that the original purpose of our activities, “to spread Snoezelen to as many children as possible,” was coming to an end, and we decided to renew the style of our activities at Snoezelen Lab. From now on, we will continue our activities by focusing on “communication media” and “artistic activities”, which we originally wanted to work on.

Panasonic corporation

Relax’ Creation project Inc.×Panasonic Inc.

In collaboration with Panasonic corporation, we are trying to solve issues related to child rearing using sensory rooms.
With the vision of “creating a society full of smiles for all parents and children,” we will jointly try to solve issues related to child-rearing by using sensory rooms. The Sensory Room is a space where young children and their families, who have difficulty communicating verbally, can relax and feel at ease, and where they can experience healing and regain their natural smiles.

Case2

NHK Educational corporation

In partnership with Alexandra Institute, a Danish non-profit corporation, and NHK Educational Corporation, we have introduced an interactive floor projection system in Japan that uses ICT systems to effectively help children with special needs learn and play. We are creating content while promoting the use of this system.

The origin of Snoezelen Lab

It goes back to my junior high school days.　At that time I had a best friend. She was cute, smart, athletic, and had lots of friends.
She was perfect from my point of view, but suddenly, without warning, she refused to go to school.

・・・・・・The cause of this was depression.　She was not in a state of mind that allowed her to realize that she had great talents and qualities.
The reason why she could not experience happiness was because of her parent-child relationship.　Because of her mother’s mental instability, she could not build a good relationship with her child, and she herself did not have a healthy self-esteem.

It was the first time I realized that no matter how blessed you are, if you cannot build good relationships with the people beside you, or if you are not in a state to love yourself, you will not be able to feel happiness.
I also learned that happiness is not about how others see you, but whether or not you feel happy.

Bullying, depression, abuse, developmental disabilities.　In addition to her, there are many children in Japan today who have lost their physical and mental balance for various reasons.　We cannot change the physical functions and family environment we are born with, but by changing the acquired environment of thoughts, behaviors, and relationships with those around us, these children can have the chance to live with a lot of happiness.

The most important thing for personality development is to have the feeling of being loved by someone during infancy.　This is the foundation for nurturing the ability to look forward and to be considerate of others, no matter how difficult the situation may be in life.

Snoezelen has a lot of potential to nurture the rich minds of such children. At the Snoezelen Lab, we will strive to create a better environment, valuing the philosophy of Snoezelen.

President of Snoezelen Lab.
Graduated from Nihon University College of Art, and received a Master’s degree in Education from Tokyo Gakugei University.
He has visited many snooze rooms in Europe and other countries, and continues to pursue the possibilities of snooze rooms, while creating a new wind for snooze rooms in Japan.
The course focuses on “Snoezelen as Therapy” and “Environmental Setting in Snoezelen” learned from special courses given by Worldwodesnoezelen in the Netherlands and Michele Shapiro in Israel.
