This course is designed for facility staff and those who care for family members.
For other people, please apply for the “Snoezelen Basic Course”.
- This course is held on an irregular basis with each facility applying for it. It can be held over a maximum of six days.
- The fee is 30,000 yen per participant, and the minimum number of participants is 5.
(The minimum number of participants is 5. (If the course is divided into 4 or more days, an additional transportation fee will be charged.) - Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of completion with the logo of Snoezelen Lab and Worldwidesnozelen in the Netherlands.

Lecturer Profile
Yoshiko Koumoto
Graduated from the Department of Early Childhood Education, Faculty of Education, Stockholm University in 1974.
She studied drama pedagogy and basic psychology at Lund University.
Graduated from the Department of Occupational Therapy, Department of Neurology, Faculty of Medicine, Lund University in 1992.
Ms. Koumoto has lived in Sweden for 42 years, working as an occupational therapist at the Malmö General University Hospital Habilitation Center. She has established snooze-lens and other facilities in the Habilitation Center, in elementary and nursery schools, and in institutions for the disabled. She is the author of several books, including “Snoezelen in Sweden” and “NOBI-NOBI Education in Sweden. She is currently working in Japan as a medical and welfare consultant.

Izumi Kanno first encountered snooze lane at the British Embassy in 1998 while working at a special needs school, and has been practicing snooze lane as a teacher, mainly at special needs schools. She became an aromatherapist in 2008, and currently advises facilities for the severely physically and mentally disabled on how to implement snooze lane, and also provides aromatherapy at Aroma Cbin-Fountain, an aroma salon and school, and at obstetrics and gynecology clinics.

Representative of Snoezelen Lab.
Atsuko Hashimoto is a graduate of Nihon University College of Art and holds a Master’s degree in Education from Tokyo Gakugei University.
She has visited many Snoezelen rooms in Europe and other countries, and continues to pursue the possibilities of Snoezelen, while creating a new style of Snoezelen in Japan.
Her lectures focus on “Snoezelen as therapy” and “Setting up the environment in Snoezelen,” which she learned from special lectures by Worldwodesnoezelen in the Netherlands and Michele Shapiro in Israel.
